We went to California in December to visit my Aunt Shauna and her family that have kids my kids age, to see the ocean, and to go to Disneyland!!
We were super lucky to have Auntie Saralynn come with us. She was the best by far!
We flew down there, and the kids were really excited to ride on a plane and they were really good. Peter ended up sleeping most of the time every time (which was good because when he was awake he wanted to kick the seat in front of him :o)
We got to California and went over to the Petty's! The kids had a blast playing together, and Shauna and Todd and the older kids were so great to visit with!
After a fun sleepover with all the kids in sleeping bags in the hall under the Christmas tree, we headed off to the Ocean.
Hattie, Peter, and I were cold, but Tanner went running right into the ocean the moment we got there and stayed until he was frozen and dripping from head to toe. Saralynn played with him at first and taught him how to run from the waves while I cuddled Hattie on the beach.
After lunch by the Pier we found some "coconut trees". Tanner identified them as such and was so excited because they have a little song in school about a coconut tree, and at the beginning of the year the teacher took some pictures of them and they pasted the pictures onto their 'coconut trees.' So, we hoisted the kids up and took pictures of them on a 'real' coconut tree.
Then we went back to the beach. Again I cuddled with Hattie in the warmish sun. This time we brought some buckets and a shovel for Peter to play in the sand with. He loved it!
And Tanner ventured back out into the water, this time with Larry. Burr, but they loved it!
Oh that beach looks like fun! I hope you are posting a special post just about Disney Land because I want to read all about it!
