Peter's 1st Birthday

Since you only have a first birthday once in your life, I decided to do a photo document of Peter's day!

After breakfast and a bottle I gave him a haircut while he played with rocks on the bathroom counter. Then into the tub for a fun and rare solo bath. I couldn't resist taking one photo of me with him during the day. I love the smell of a clean baby.
After a million trips up and down the stairs and a couple hours playing with Tanner and Hattie, Peter had a good nap and woke up super happy, like always! I love the rosy cheeks after a nap.
For lunch we had apple sauce and crap (Kraft) dinner, which he loved. He also loved having his picture taken while eating. He thought he was really funny.
Then into the van for a trip to ...

The toy store!!! We stayed for 1 1/2 hours, and he was in heaven the entire time.Peter loved pushing all the buttons and tried touching everything in the store. By the end he was SO filthy and SO happy!

Tanner and Hattie love playing on the big ride-ons, so naturally Peter thought it was cool.At home we had a quick snack before some more play time and a Peter favorite supper, sheapard's pie
Then the cake smash session. I took some cute pictures of him before I let him dig in, but everyone was way too excited to see what he would do when he could touch the cake to have any patience watching him get these pictures.
Then the clothes came off and we set the cake in front of him. He stared at it for a little while, then poked it, then hit it, then...Started bawling. He wanted Nothing to do with the cake. I had Larry show him what to do, but Peter didn't want to touch it, eat it, nothing. I love this picture with him crossing his legs away from the cake since we were making him stay there. Then he's off. Once we put him in his seat with a little piece of cake, he was fine. Tanner and Hattie were disappointed that he didn't smash the cake better, but they were thrilled when he tried sharing his cake slice with them.

Then another bath to get the greasy icing off his body, another bottle, and off to bed. What more could a kids ask for from his first birthday.
