The Summer I forgot to take pictures

Okay, really this summer was awesome. We got the best weather I can ever remember, and we had our yard totally finished with a gate across the driveway so Peter couldn't escape. In all ways, it was perfect, except that I forgot to take pictures.

Tanner got a new bike for an early birthday present, and learned to ride really quick. And he loved it. He would wear various superhero costumes and ride up and down the alley. Priceless.
I called Hattie my kitty cat because she would always follow the sun around the kitchen in the afternoon and often fall asleep in it. I, for one, was always super jealous. For Larry's Birthday, we went to Calaway park with some friends. Such fun. It was a perfect day, and the kids had the best time ever, except Peter didn't like the rides - any of them. Tanner rode these airplanes about 5 times in a row, except, when asked what he favorite ride was, it was hands down the "up and down and up and down ride" being the Drop of Doom of Calaway Park. He laughed himself silly on it the entire time. So cute.Hattie's favorite was the princesses. All the Disney princesses did a singing dancing show, and Hattie and Avery were in heaven. They ran to the front as fast as they could when they invited people to come dance with them, and these two girls danced their hearts out. It was so cute to watch. After, the princesses greeted them and let them get hugs and pictures. At the end of July we headed to Surveyor's Lake with Jenny and Jason and their family (with the traditional stop at the giant truck). The trip was mostly cold and rainy, but the kids didn't care at all. They loved being with their cousins running wild. It got warm in the middle of each day. Perhaps even hot, because we were able to play at the beach swimming and building sand castles. Every one loved it, even Peter who thought he was in heaven the whole time and I'm sure decided this was the way he wanted to spend the rest of his life.

Then there were the backyard camping trips. The kids begged to go camping again, so I figured why not and set up the tent in the backyard. Even better than the real thing in so many ways, and the kids were just as excited. Our trip to Saskatoon to visit the cousins is always a treat, and this year we got to go twice. So fun. Sask had a fireworks festival, so we headed there to watch it along with my whole family. Lots of people, lots of fun, and little sleep. At the end of August, Lethbridge has their Woop-Up Days. We went to the Parade, and it was, well, ... fun to eat popcorn and hit 'bong-ers' together.Peter LOVED the music floats and bands and would totally rock out big time to them for as long as the music could be heard. And then he would very proudly strut to a chair, climb in, and clap watching the other floats.Tanner liked the parade, but hated the noise. He seems to be going through a phase lately where he covers his ears at even the prospect of noise. Oh well.At the very end of summer, my mom had a huge garage sale for Peru and asked us to do a lemonade stand. Of course, I couldn't just do a picnic table and juice, so I had Larry build this for me the day of and haul it out there. Thanks hun! What a fun summer. Larry and I also went to Peru and left the kids at G&G Bester's for 12 days, but that's another post for another day.
