After the Pinkalicious Party, we planned a Princess Party for Hattie. (Obviously as much for me as for her :) We sent out invitations with a map on them showing the way through all the princess centres to the 'happily ever after' (below). Saralynn and I painted some signs and pictures for the different centre and put them up around the church gym.
Saralynn was at the Repunzel tower doing face painting, painting nails, and putting on princess tattoos. The little girls loved this centre, and Saralynn was so good to them (including coming dressed as a princess)
Lunch was pink muffins, pink applesauce, strawberries, and pink juice. Everything fit for a princess!
I didn't plan many activities because the kids were so young and I knew they would prefer to run around playing, which they did. There were a tonne of dance parties held in the middle of the room to the princess music that was blasting the entire time. (technically Cinderella's dance floor on the map)
We also had Sleeping Beauties castle in a corner, complete with a kitchen and dress up centre inside. I made it out of cardboard boxes (which were next to impossible to come by) and taped and spray painted it. The girls loved it, but it was nothing like I thought it would be (but perhaps everything it should have been with the minimal effort I put in it.) The girls had fun playing in it, and the boys had fun running by and knocking it down.
Then off to Tinkerbell's Nook for necklace beading. This was also a huge hit with all the kids. It was fun watching them assemble their necklaces. Each girl knew exactly what they wanted, and they were all so different.
Then back to Belle's kitchen for Princess Cake. I set it in front of Hattie and while I was turned to get the knife, she licked it. ha ha! Needless to say she got that piece, but then when we handed her her piece she started eating it without waiting for her fork. Obviously she was very excited about the sugar aspect of it.
Then present time. Everyone was so generous with their girls, and Hattie was really grateful for everything she received. Her favourite was 'real' makeup and nail polish. After gifts the kids went to get their treat bags and went home. It was an awesome party!
Then Party number 3 a few days later. Nana brought over a 'kinder egg' cake, which was a hit! (that's as close as she would let Hattie get to 'blowing out her kinder candles'. Obviously where I get my birthday cake candle blowing ceremony phobia from :)
Then more gifts. Benji and Hallie got her 'lip lips', which she of course loved cause she could take them to her room and not have to ask mom to use some.
And Nana and Grandpa got her a pony castle, which she loves. Nana took her downstairs and made up some story where the ponies all needed to get into the castle before the evil dog got them. Hattie went into sheer panic mode because she was so scared. ha ha, so funny!
This little girl had non-stop parties for the entire month of March! From Pinkalicious to Princess to Pony, they were all fantastic! We sure love you Hattie and we love what a fantastic girl you continue to grow up into.
awwww adorable! you throw the best parties!
